Information on the selection process, requirements, and structural elements of the United Kingdom Special Forces simulation community.
Overview
Taskforce Alpha is a structured simulation unit conducting semi-realistic operations based on the British Armed Forces. We are currently undergoing a major restructure to implement three specialized operational elements.
Our objective is to ensure every role has a distinct operational purpose and contributes to the success of the wider task group.
Selection journey
The path to joining the taskforce is divided into 4 operational phases.
Application and interview
You must first uplink to our communication node. You will undergo a screening interview with Taskforce HQ to verify your technical readiness and suitability for the community.
The Ranger Cadre
Successful applicants are assigned to the Ranger Regiment. During this 2-week training period, you will be evaluated on your mastery of:
- small unit tactics: standard operating procedures for urban and rural combat
- communication protocols: operation of tactical radio systems
- medical SOPs: application of the ACE3 medical simulation system
Operational validation
After completing the cadre, you will deploy on active operations as a Ranger. This probationary period validates your ability to maintain standards under operational stress.
Specialist selection
Once validated, you may apply for selection into specialized Tier 1 detachments, including the SAS, SBS, and Intelligence elements.
