The SFSG provides specialist infantry support to the UKSF Directorate.
The SFSG was formed to provide the SAS, SBS, and SRR with a dedicated infantry support capability. Comprised of 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (1 PARA), and elements of the Royal Marines and RAF Regiment, the SFSG is a high-readiness force.
Core Roles
- Direct Action (DA): Conducting raids and strikes alongside Tier 1 units.
- Cordon and Containment: Securing objective areas to allow specialized intervention.
- Specialist Training: Providing training and mentoring to partner forces globally.
